Class Description

Build the foundation for confident, customized K-Tip extension services. This certification class covers everything from consultation and guest selection to intentional mapping, proper bond creation, installation, blending, home care, and safe removal.

Learn how to create K-Tip installations that look natural, move comfortably, and protect the integrity of the guest's natural hair—while understanding the why behind every bond you place.

Three Teaching Points

1. Consult Before You Commit

● Identify ideal K-Tip candidates and recognize when K-Tips may not be appropriate.

● Assess hair density, integrity, lifestyle, maintenance expectations, and guest goals.

● Determine the appropriate length, color, and amount of hair needed for length, density, or color enhancement.

● Set clear expectations around pricing, longevity, home care, maintenance, and removal.

● Understand why K-Tips are considered a one-time-use extension method.

2. Map with Intention

● Create clean sectioning and establish safe perimeter zones around the hairline and crown.

● Learn how natural density determines the amount and placement of extension hair.

● Customize mapping based on the guest's desired length, density, movement, and face frame.

● Understand how strategic placement helps blend shorter layers and creates a natural finished result.

● Learn how subsection size and placement impact tension, comfort, and natural-hair integrity.

3. Build the Bond

● Learn proper K-Tip subsectioning, keratin melting, bond placement, rolling, shaping, and sealing.

● Understand what creates a safe, consistent, and comfortable bond.

● Recognize common installation mistakes, including oversized bonds, incorrect subsection sizes, poor sealing, and improper distance from the scalp.

● Practice installation with instructor coaching focused on cleanliness, consistency, placement, and control.

● Learn safe removal, blending, finishing, and maintenance practices.
